Stepper motors

Hummer h2 Speedo Stepper motor x27.168
The speedometer and the rev counter are probably the most important displays of the instrument cluster. Especially the failure of the speed indicator quickly leads to you exceeding the speed limit. Consequently, it is best to always ensure that the instrument cluster is fully functional.
This is how you recognize a defective stepper motor
Most defects occur after about 100,000 km of mileage. Since many shafts and gears in the stepper motor are made of plastic, they break or are simply worn out. They no longer grip properly or start to "wobble".
The following symptoms show you immediately whether the stepper motors in your speedometer are defective or not:
- Speedometer needles "jitter"
- Speedometer needles are stuck or blocked
- the rpm or speed indicator does not move at all
If you have one of the listed problems, you should not wait too long before carrying out a repair. Because you will certainly feel better if you know exactly how fast you are going.
Pixelfehler Hamburg stands for years of experience
If your pointers no longer function as intended, this is probably due to the stepper motors installed in them. The pins of the old motor must be desoldered and then the new stepper motor must be soldered in again. This is relatively easy for the technically experienced hobby screwdriver. We also equip our customers with vehicles from American manufacturers such as Cadillac, Chevrolet or Hummer with the appropriate stepper motors.
If you would rather have the stepper motors replaced by our experts, simply send us your instrument cluster and we will carry out a professional speedometer repair. Pixelfehler Hamburg helps you, no matter what you need. Since 2005 we have been working in the special field of tachometer, navigation and control unit repairs and are at your disposal with help and advice.
